How to combat bad reviews

The last few months has definitely been a change of pace for the adult industry and the fans alike. The entire world has experienced the effects of recent events and as a result, we’ve seen an influx of disgruntle review sites. These sites are both damaging and hurtful to creators who work hard to provide quality content to their subscribers.

Unfortunately, you can’t make EVERYONE happy and often times saying NO or not giving into demands and requests can create an unhappy fan. It’s inevitable.

So what do you do?

The first thing you do is READ it.

Reading the review can HELP you if the review is valid, and you actually take the advice of the writer seriously. Sometimes your best learning comes from mistakes and a review can pinpoint areas of your business and content creation that need improvement.

Whether you oversell and under deliver, or simply neglect to follow up with the promises you make in your sales pitch; you could be setting yourself up to fail.

Don’t take it personal.

More often than not, it’s NOT you. You are running a business that competes with tons of free content out there. The art of getting sales is the easier part of our business model. Keeping a customer entertained, happy and rebilling is the more difficult aspect of what we do.

Easier said than done when you are your product and brand but if you take it personally, it can be potentially damaging to those who value you and what you offer. Save that time, effort and energy for those who deserve it.

Get GOOD reviews from your best customers & fans

Have your fans and loyal subs write you reviews that tell THEIR positive experience with you and your content. The best defense is a strong offense. Beat the negative with considerably more positive feedback. Offer rewards for sharing their testimonial!

Although you can’t avoid them all together, you can find a way to battle against the occasional bad review or learn from it. Good luck and happy gaining!
